About Us
JiCA is a Mogadishu-based, non-profit and independent policy research institute dedicated to informing and shaping cohesive policies and strategies promoting adaptation to climate change to help drive inclusive, sustainable and resilient transition in Somalia through undertaking a blend of empirical research, meticulous analysis, and inclusive convening at the intersection of environmental policy, climate change and food security for a greener, and resilient transition in Somalia.
Juba Institute was founded in early 2019 by a group of multifaced policy technocrats who recognized that an independent development research mechanism could make invaluable contributions to national and international efforts building resilience to climate-driven risks and crises confronting Somalia’s peace and development trajectory as it recovers from decades of violent conflicts and persistent insecurity.
