We are JICA, a non-profit and independent policy research institute committed to promoting adaptation to climate change.

JICA aims to help alleviate climate-induced vulnerabilities and build resilience through a mix of empirical research, meticulous analysis and honest dialogues.

About JICA Organization

The Juba Institute for Climate Adaptation (JICA) was founded in late 2019 by a group of multifaceted policy technocrats who recognized that an independent research mechanism could make invaluable contributions to national and international efforts toward building resilience to climate-driven crises confronting Somalia’s peace and development trajectory as it records steady progress in an array of dimensions after nearly a two-decade-long violent conflict.

Our Vision is a peaceful, greener, and resilient transition for Somalia anchored in evidence-informed norms, policies, and practice.
