Executive Leadership
Mr. Mohamud Farah serves as the 1st Executive Director of the Juba Institute for Climate Adaptation. With nearly a ten-year’s high-level responsible experience in leading the implementation of donor-funded programs with a tremendous focus on climate change, agriculture and food and nutrition security, Mr Farah has worked with several of Somalia’s Federal Ministries and UN Agencies in Somalia. Prior to his appointment, Farah served in senior capacities at the helm of Somalia’s Federal Minister of Agriculture and Irrigations including, most recently, a Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture & Irrigation providing objective and sound policy directions on program development, strategic operational planning and management, donor engagement and resource mobilizations to help accelerate Somalia’s progress towards zero hunger and access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food, particularly for vulnerable and poor people in the country. An environmentalist by training, Farah obtained his MA, in Environment, Development and Peace from the University for Peace in Sanjose, Costa Rica and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics from Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt.
